Intertek has a proud history in Automotive testing, engineering, quality audit and supplier development. In 2005 our Intertek Automotive Services China office was established in Shanghai which is the first and only fully accredited A2LA / AEMCLRP automotive component and systems test lab in China. Our significant investment in new equipment and facilities provides comprehensive and state-of-the-art testing capabilities. Intertek Automotive Services (IAS) is committed to being a full-service supplier of automotive testing and engineering services.

Intertek service offering to automotive OEMs and suppliers includes:

• Component & Product testing
• Engineering / product development
• Program management
• Supply Chain Development / Supplier Audits
• Public & on-site training (EMC, DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, AST, ISO/TS 16949)
• Technical liaison and support with N. American OEM’s and suppliers

For product testing, Intertek focuses on two areas:

• Automotive performance testing, primarily for electronics, audio and interior components, including:
  - Vibration (sine, random, shock)
  - Thermal Aging (walk-in chambers, drive-in chambers)
  - Thermal Cycling
  - Programmable Chamber Exposures
  - Temperature, Humidity
  - BSR (Buzz, Squeak, Rattle) & NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness)
• Automotive EMC, primarily for electronic power distribution/control units, modules, connectors, audio, including:
  - Radiated Emissions
  - Radiated Immunity
  - Electro Static Discharge (ESD)
  - Bulk Current Injection (BCI)
  - Mode-tune / Transient Pulses
