The purpose of the WEEE (2002/96/EC) Directive
The main purpose of the WEEE (2002/96/EC) Directive is to control the electrical and electronic wastes, especially to realize the recycling and other forms of recovery of wastes so that the waste disposal is reduced.

The purpose of the ROHS (2002/95/EC) Directive
The main purpose of the ROHS (2002/95/EC) Directive is to make the laws regulating estrictions on hazardous substances used in the electrical and electronic equipments tend to be uniform among EU countries, which is favorable to better protect human health and environment.

The application scope of the WEEE / RoHS Directives

  1. Large household appliances
  2. Small household appliances
  3. IT and telecommunications equipment
  4. Consumer equipment
  5. Lighting equipment
  6. Electrical and electronic tools (with the exception of large-scale stationary industrial tools)
  7. Toys, leisure and sports equipment
  8. Medical devices (with the exception of all implanted and infected products)
  9. Monitoring and control instruments
  10. Automatic dispensers

The application scope of the RoHS Directive does not include Item 8 and 9 of the above-mentioned products.
