As China is now a member of WTO, a new certification system, called China Compulsory Product Certification System (CCC Certification) has been launched, which is applied to products related to human life and health, animals, plants, environmental protection and national security. Since the 1st of May of 2002, two symbols used by the two systems, namely "CCIB" (for safety approval) and "CCEE" (Great Wall approval), have be unified and replaced by the symbol "CCC" (China Compulsory Certificate). Any product covered by the Catalogue should be gained the certificate and applied the certification mark before it can be marketed, imported or used for any commercial purposes.
